Job Description

Summary

The lab is seeking self motivated technician to work in a laboratory focused on the underlying genetics and molecular mechanisms of brain tumor formation and progression using human tumor tissue, cell culture and animal models. The technician will be required to prepare and conduct laboratory research experiments that includes mouse management and cell culture experiments. In addition, the technician will be required to collect, compile and analyze data for specific projects.

Job Duties

  • Prepares and conducts laboratory research experiments that includes mouse management and cell culture experiments.
  • Collects, compiles and analyzes data for specific projects.
  • Documents the experimental results and summarizes information in an appropriate format for a particular study.
  • Works on banking tumor tissue, cell culture, molecular biology and biochemical techniques.
  • Organizes labs database.
  • Maintains laboratory stocks of chemicals and agents.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Two years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • One year of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a basic science or equivalent education.
  • Experience, in handling mice or other rodents.
  • Experience in molecular biology and basic computer skills. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office that includes Microsoft Access.
