What Your Job Will Be Like:

Be part of a high functioning, inter-disciplinary,elite collaborative team that solves complex engineering challenges. You’ll make a difference in national security and contribute to Sandia’s top-priority mission. We are seeking highly motivated, professional R&D Electrical Engineers to join our team to develop, design, implement, and maintain complex systems and components for nuclear deterrence. Opportunities exist to develop new technology strategies and to lead R&D project teams. This position will offer you substantial opportunities for training and technical mentorship along with a competitive salary and benefits.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

Perform electrical design, testing, and modeling at all levels of assembly (system, component, device) Research and develop new technologies for insertion into future systems Qualify electrical system performance in extreme environments (radiation, temperature, electromagnetic, accidents, etc.)

Selected applicants will be interviewed by a subcommittee of managers. Subsequently, successful applicants will be provided to managers for placement in positions across Center 7600.

Interested applicants should be currently enrolled and pursuing a Master's degree in a relevant STEM field.

This positions will require reporting onsite due to the nature of the work.

Some travel may be required.

Qualifications We Require:

  • Advanced (Masters or PhD) degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant STEM discipline
  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant STEM discipline
  • Ability to acquire and maintain a DOE Q-Level security clearance

Qualifications We Desire:

  • Two years of relevant work experience
  • Experience with the design or analysis of high reliability custom electronic components and systems
  • Experience with electrical simulation tools
  • Experience working with high voltage components, systems, or testers
  • Experience working in an electrical lab
  • Ability to learn new technical areas
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills
  • Project leadership experience
  • Active DOE Q or DOD TS security clearance
  • A strong commitment to safety, security, quality, and program success

About Our Team:

The Engineering and Design Integration Center (7600) is a multi-discipline, product-focused organization that provides engineering design, components, subsystems, integration, testing, and field support for nuclear weapons and other national security applications. Examples of these applications include the development of satellite and other space-flight payloads and testing for high consequence military programs. The Center is divided into three main competencies: Advanced Mechanical Systems, Sensor and Fuze Engineering, and Telemetry and Software Systems.
