Senior Pharmacy Technician I (Inpatient) PRN

The successful candidate:

  • Must be able to work PRN, varying shifts primarily Mon-Fri DAYS or NIGHTS, with some occasional weekends. Pharmacy is open 24 hours per day/7 days per week.

  • Be competent in aseptic compounding of sterile IV preparations in compliance with USP 797 and USP 800 guidelines, including but not limited to TPN, IV drips, and chemotherapy

  • Procures and distributes medication orders per physician request, pharmacist request, or prearranged work assignment according to established policies, procedures, and protocols.

  • Assist with maintaining adequate stock of medications and supplies according to established inventory control levels

  • Assist with the management of the automated dispensing machines reporting for quality and regulatory measures.

  • Assist with pharmacy workflow by streamlining phone calls to the appropriate staff member; and delivery of patient specific medications to departments throughout the facility.

  • Participate in departmental and hospital quality assurance programs with an emphasis on patient safety, and regulatory compliance.

  • Assist with regulatory required monthly unit inspections for all departments that stock medications.

Qualifications

Minimum Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Minimum Experience

  • Experience-Previous hospital experience

  • Special Skills- Background in the admixing of sterile oncology preparations

Required Certification/Licensure

  • Active pharmacy technician license through the Georgia Board of Pharmacy

  • Active National Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification preferred, or must be obtained within 60 days of employment

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $17.20 - $26.55 / hour
