Job Description

We are seeking to expand our team in Dr. Somers' laboratory by recruiting several postdoctoral Research Fellows and visiting Research Fellows. Mayo Clinic's research program on obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) stands as a leader in the field, with a primary focus on understanding OSA's connections to cardiovascular disease, obesity, and treatment modalities. Our extensive portfolio includes numerous high-impact academic publications in prestigious journals such as NEJM, Lancet, JCI, Circulation, and Nature Communications, and so forth.

Ideal candidates should have a PhD, MD or MD/PhD, and possess robust training in basic sciences in molecular/cellular biology, genetics, immunology and biochemistry and/or clinical medicine, demonstrating significant scientific research productivity with a track record of having published at least 1-2 first-author papers in cardiovascular and metabolic field in top-tier journals with an impact score of 7 or above. Experience in organoid technology utilizing human tissues or stem cells is essential. Proficiency in experimental techniques such as general immunofluorescent staining, Western blotting, qPCR, and cell culture methods are basic requirement.

- Postdoctoral Research Fellow Positions:
Postdoctoral Research Fellowships are competitive and limited only to US permanent residents (green card holders) or citizens and Canadians.

- Visiting Research Fellow Positions:
Self- or institute-funded support is required for visiting Research Fellow applicants to cover living expenses in Rochester, MN, and English proficiency is a plus. International applicants are welcome to apply. Minimum one year commitment.
