We need a leader that will be flexible and able to change their plans to match the reality of the situation so we can maintain productivity. Your duties will include but are not limited to:  

Providing guidance and technical oversight of pre-analytic services.  

• Interacting with Department Supervision and site leadership to maintain staffing, service levels, quality and performance.  

• Implementing and following safety procedures and regulations. 

Complying with department and institute financial targets.

This is an evening shift position and requires working every third weekend.
Evening shift is 3pm-11:30pm
Weekend shift is 5am-12noon


Responsibilities:

  • Leads local work group in daily operations including staffing, service levels, quality and safety.
  • Facilitates team meetings.
  • Ensures proper staffing and workload levels.
  • Participates in hiring process as well as input on employee performance, including corrective actions and evaluations.
  • Investigates and resolves routine operational problems and patient issues.
  • Escalates complex problems to Supervisor/Manager.
  • Drives local root cause analysis and implementation of improvements and counter measures.
  • Leads departmental projects.
  • Communicates to all levels as needed.
  • Provides response to local quality concerns and informs critical issues to senior management.
  • Drives front line employee engagement and recognition.
  • Facilitates development for lead techs.
  • Leads and provides Talent Management for team leaders.
  • Oversees onboarding and training of all employees.
  • Orders and maintains adequate supplies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • Associate's Degree.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or related field preferred.
  • High School diploma/GED and five years of experience may substitute for the degree requirement.
  • Bachelor’s degree and one year of experience may substitute for the experience requirement.

Certifications:

  • None required.

Work Experience:

  • Three years laboratory experience.
  • Leadership experience is strongly preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods
  • Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment
  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information
  • Ability to travel throughout the hospital system and, in some locations, off-site.
