What You Will Achieve

As part of the Comparative Medicine team, you will provide administrative support to members of Comparative Medicine across multiple sites and their respective teams. As part of the administrative support team, you have comprehensive knowledge and skills in your area and understand how related areas impact it. You take initiative to represent your department on cross-functional teams. You are proactive in sharing knowledge and expertise with others in your work group. You are seen as someone who promotes teamwork and always motivates others to achieve team objectives. Your systematic approach and organizational abilities will ensure that communication between departments and teams is seamless.

How You Will Achieve It

  • Schedule group meetings/ video conferences and make necessary arrangements to support meetings including those cross-site.
  • Assist team members in preparation for meetings by compiling pertinent meeting materials including agendas, pre-read material, presentations, etc.
  • Create, compose and edit written material and format presentations and spreadsheets
  • Maintain SharePoint folders, distribution lists, etc.
  • Serve as back-up for administrative activities relating to documentation in a highly regulated environment such as standard operating procedures and quality control
  • Assist in POs, invoices, and administrative components of ordering/shipping/receiving
  • Maintain busy, rapidly changing calendars including resolution of meeting conflicts. 
  • Make domestic and international travel arrangements and complete expense reports. 
  • Model and direct others in using appropriate discretion in the management of information including confidential information
  • Due to a dynamic workload and shifting responsibilities, works closely with other departmental administrative professionals to share information and request assistance as appropriate.
  • Assist with onboarding activities of colleagues
  • Support engagement and team building activities with event planning

May be required to work under one of the following: The United States Department of Agriculture Animal Welfare Act and associated Regulations and Standards, the Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals, Good Laboratory Practices, Public Health Service Policy and/or AAALAC accreditation standards.

Qualifications

Must-Have

  • High school diploma or GED with 4+ years experience
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communications skills as well as sensitivity to handling confidential information. 
  • Advanced technical skills in Microsoft 365 apps including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, OneNote, and management of SharePoint sites.
  • Excellent command of language, grammar and basic applied business math
  • Motivation to learn and apply new procedures and digital applications quickly and ability to balance multiple priorities, managing time effectively
  • Works well in a collaborative team environment and has willingness to contribute fresh and innovative ideas

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience with ARIBA/ SAP/Concur  
  • Bachelor's Degree

Work Location Assignment: On premise


The salary for this position ranges from $28.68 to $47.79 per hour. In addition, this position offers eligibility for overtime, weekend, holiday and other pay premiums depending on the work schedule and the Company’s policies.
