Summary
The Department of Pediatrics, Division of Hematology-Oncology is seeking a candidate for an Assistant or Associate Professor rank to provide quality care to the community with a focus on hematology conditions.
Job Duties
Scope of practice:
This position is for a faculty member with interest in hematology.
Clinical duties may include:
- Manage outpatient and/or inpatient care for designated patients in a tertiary hospital setting. Inpatient attending time includes weekends.
- Education and supervision of trainees including fellows, residents, and advanced practice practitioners.
- Perform procedures (bone marrow) on patients as indicated.
- Serve as consultant for Texas Children’s Cancer and Hematology Center physicians at our network of community hospitals.
Clinical or basic science research in hematology is expected to be a large portion of the position and will be discussed with Section leadership during the application process.
Minimum requirements
- M.D. or equivalent degree.
- Board certified or board eligible for Pediatric Hematology-Oncology boards.
- Prior to employment start date must obtain Texas Medical License and Drug Enforcement Administration registration.
