Department Institute of Translational Genomic Medicine
Position Summary
As the Senior Manager of Data Managment, you will be responsible for developing and overseeing our data management strategy, which includes the creation of on-premise high-capacity computing clusters and computing data systems. This position will also develop and maintain a clinical research data management infrastructure consistent with and supportive of current and future process developments. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that our researchers have access to the data resources they need for their genomic research projects. This position will provide data management oversight of vendors and work collaboratively with data managers, clinicians, study managers, biostatisticians, and statistical programmers in the planning, conduct, and execution of all phases of operations related to the Institute of Translational Genomic Medicine (ITGM). This role will work strategically with Morehouse School of Medicine’s cross-functional teams and external partners to ensure that all data deliverables generated by ITGM are accurate, timely, consistent, and executed with the highest Good Clinical Practice (GCP), Good Clinical Data Management Practices (GCDMP) and quality standards, in accordance with established contractual agreements, budgets and grant/study timelines.

Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data management, or a related field.

Experience:
10+ years of data management experience
4+ years of leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources
Proven experience in data management, including building on-premises computing clusters and managing cloud-based data system
Experience with data visualization tools and development of reporting capabilities (i.e., SAS, J-Review, Spotfire, MS Power BI, etc.)
Knowledge of genomics and biomedical research data is highly desirable
Proficiency in data governance, data security, and compliance standards


Preferred Qualifications
Education:
Master’s degree or advanced degree in computer science, data management or a related field.

Experience:
SCDM and/or Certified Clinical Data Manager (CCDM) preferred
Clinical data management project management preferred
Understanding of regulatory guidelines and issues (i.e., ICH GCP), and understanding of the connection to DM deliverables
Experience in regulatory filings (e.g., NDA, BLA, MAA) preferred
