Job Description

Summary

The Division of Cardiothoracic Transplant Surgery is seeking a qualified Research Assistant I to support research efforts within a world-renowned surgical division that values productivity and academic excellence. Within Academic Productions branch of the Cardiothoracic Research Team, contribute to the quality assurance and completion of clinical outcomes research projects as they are prepared for abstract and manuscript submission with the aim of formal publication and ultimately improving the care of patients afflicted with cardiovascular disease throughout the world.

Job Duties

  • Coordinates the lifecycle of original research projects from abstract to publication.
  • Assists with the production of images and presentation materials to specification.
  • Organizes original research abstract submission.
  • Performs focused literature searches using PubMed and other search engines.
  • Prepares a formal bibliography for publication as needed.
  • Secures permission for the publication of figures as needed.
  • Revises publication-ready variable definition dictionary as needed.
  • Performs targeted variable review of Dettore Database as assigned.
  • Develops targeted content using AI and other methods to support faculty and mentees.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or a related field.
  • Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in basic science or a related field.
  • Experience in graphic design or production is preferred but not required.
