Job Description

Summary

The Division of Cardiothoracic Transplant Surgery is seeking a qualified Research Assistant II to supervise a cardiac database, assist with case reports, perform data cleanup, and support the dissemination of clinical research through presentations and publications. This position will be under the direct supervision of the Principal Investigator. The selected candidate will provide research support in a hospital setting.

Job Duties

  • Supervises limited research projects, including the Brockman Research Project, following general plans approved by the principal investigator.
  • Plans, directs, and conducts research experiments.
  • Selects, evaluates, and determines appropriate research procedures.
  • Collects, compiles, and analyzes data, including clinical data.
  • Documents and interprets the results of experiments and reports to the Principal Investigator.
  • Conducts literature searches and summarizes information in an appropriate format for studies.
  • Prepares presentations and assists with publications.
  • May develop and modify computer programs.
  • Defines problems and possible solutions.
  • Trains and orients less experienced research staff.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or a related field.
  • Three years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in basic science or a related field.
