Purpose of Position
The Department of Biological Sciences invites applications for a Renewable Assistant Teaching Professor position beginning Fall 2025.
Primary Responsibilities
Primary teaching responsibilities include lecture and laboratory courses in Human Anatomy and Physiology and in General Biology. Other courses may be involved based on candidate’s background and preference and department needs. Candidates should have an interest in assisting with outreach programs for the public (K-12 and adult learners).
It is important that faculty incorporate innovative, hands-on, dynamic, active-learning methods into courses and keep current on new teaching strategies and technologies. Faculty will be responsible for coordinating multiple sections and training new lab instructors. Student career mentoring responsibilities are also required.
Qualifications
A minimum of a Master’s degree in Biology is required. Teaching experience in Human Anatomy and Physiology in both laboratory and lecture is preferred. Human cadaver experience is desirable. Online teaching experience is valued. Candidates should be strongly committed to teaching at the undergraduate level.
