Strategic Insights Partner
Job Description
The Strategic Insights Associate role is responsible for supporting the Pfizer Global Supply (PGS) Directs Sourcing and Research & Development (R&D) Sourcing teams with Analytics & Insights capabilities.
They are responsible for responding to and executing procurement analytics requests.
They are responsible for creating analytics reports using both internal and external data sources, as well as maintaining a knowledge repository of market intelligence and best practices.
They should ensure ongoing spend and procurement data quality throughout the entire lifecycle.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Analytics & Category Insight Generation
- Create and maintain analytics reports, both on-going and ad-hoc, enabled by third-party analytics platforms and tools
- Support of PGS Directs budgeting cycle (volume variations, drivers, presentations), PPV management andmonthly PPV verification reviews, reporting and explanation of drivers for LE forecast quarterly, full year forecast
- Provide advanced procurement analytics, ad-hoc market intelligence reports (e.g., market trends, porters five forces, innovations), and supplier discovery analytics and research
- Support activities related to external benchmarking and industry research exercises to identify best practices and emerging trends in sourcing analytics
- Communicate what external data sources are available to users and advise on what source should be used for each analytics or report needs
- Develop and maintain category / supplier profiles utilizing internal and external insights
- Identify preliminary sourcing and category opportunities
- Develop preliminary insights to support supplier negotiations
- Shadow and understand execution of projects for sourcing project pipeline, as needed
- Build an understanding to support respective stakeholders from cross-functional teams, including procurement, finance, operations, and IT, to develop and implement data-driven sourcing strategies
- Support the team with creation and building of reports and dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and the performance of the sourcing function
- Work with leadership to build analytics insights for respective stakeholders, using data visualization tools and storytelling techniques that the team creates to facilitate understanding and decision-making
- Reporting support across S&ES teams (e.g., spend reporting)
- Support preparation of reports to senior management
Data Management, Quality, & Tooling
- Build an understanding of common methodologies, tools, and templates on spend analytics (category profiles, analysis models, etc.)
- Understand, explore and apply development of methodologies and processes for common reporting needs, project portfolio monitoring, and spend infrastructure management
- Support the implementation of data governance policies and procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of sourcing data
- Understand data governance frameworks and data quality standards for sourcing data, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and completeness across multiple systems and sources
People Management & Development
- Work closely with a high-performing team of sourcing team members to support the sourcing function, provide insights and recommendations that inform strategic decision-making
Strategic Insights
- Typically operates in a predominantly operational manner
- Typically has medium to low mastery of advanced analytics capabilities
- Typically oversees projects with medium to low complexity for assessing sourcing effectiveness
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, Operations Research, Business, Computer Science, Operations & Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline
- Up to 2 years of experience overseeing and using Spreadsheet Software (e.g., Excel, macros, Alteryx) and Visualization Tools (e.g.,Tableau, PowerBI, Looker, QlikView, QuickSight), Databases
- Experience in Microsoft Office and data analysis tools
- Basic understanding of procurement and supply chain management
- Experience working with data and skilled in data analysis
- Ability to produce high-quality, timely outcomes
- Flexible to changing priorities and comfortable in a fast-paced dynamic environment
Experience
- Typical Years of Experience: Up to 2 years of experience in data science & data analytics
- Experience working with diverse teams
- Experience with developing reports to drive data-driven decisions
Knowledge
- Basic knowledge of analytics and data science to manage spend analytics solution and deliver insights
- Basic knowledge of common sourcing analysis methodologies (TCO models, PPV analysis, cost modeling, regression and other statistical analysis)
- Understanding of category-specific considerations for developing analytical insights
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ yrs of experience implementing software solutions to automate data source, visualization and/or data modeling application
- Up to 2 years of experience overseeing and using SQL queries (e.g. MySQL/BigQuery)
- Experience and proficiency with Sievo procurement analytics software
- Experience with Beroe Live.ai procurement market intelligence
- 2+ years of relevant work experience building end to end solutions to performance measurement and process improvement
