Augusta University's School of Public Health invites applications for a faculty member at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor, in the Department of Health Management, Economics, and Policy (HMEP). HMEP seeks a faculty leader with a demonstrated track record of excellence in research, teaching, and service related to the disciplines housed within the department. This appointment also holds the responsibility of serving as the Master's in Public Health (MPH) Program Director for approximately 50% commitment. The MPH Director will serve as the primary leader and manager of the MPH program handling day-to-day activities and overseeing the work efforts of multiple faculty and staff, communicating and coordinating with the Graduate School and other AU colleges, and AU Online.
Responsibilities

• 50% program director- Strategically plan and effectively manage the MPH program operations.
• 30% teaching- Teach up to two courses per year within one of the graduate programs of the School of Public Health or participate in other educational initiatives offered by the school. Oversee MPH Capstone projects and serve as career advisor.
• 10% research- Conduct research related to faculty member's disciplinary expertise and/or pedagogical research.
• 10% service- Provide service to the academic department, school, and university through participation in faculty meetings or committees. Provide service to the profession through involvement in professional organizations or serve as a reviewer of manuscript journals or grant applications.

Required Qualifications
PhD or DrPH in Public Health, Health Policy, Health Management, Health Services Research, or a closely related field. Applicants must also have a track record of excellence in teaching and mentoring.
Associate Professor- Mid level career faculty member with at least five years at rank of Assistant Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.
Professor- Senior level career faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Associate Professor or comparable training, background, and experience. Per Board of Regents (BOR) policy, Professors must have a terminal degree.
Required faculty employment qualifications for all USG institutions and all academic ranks within these institutions shall be:
- Consistent with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC)'s requirements for institutional accreditation;
- Evidence of ability as a teacher;
- Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned;
- Successful experience (which will necessarily be waived for those just entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements); and,
- Desirable personal qualities judged on the basis of personal interview, complete biographical data, and recommendations.
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated leadership and administrative experience in an educational setting are strongly preferred.
Experience directing MPH program or similar education programs.

This position is fiscal year based and works year-round.
The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0 and considered full-time.
Associate Professor- Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds.
