Position Summary
Infection Preventionistsare responsible foridentifyinghealthcare-associated infection risks to patients and personnel through surveillance,observationand assessment.Incumbents specialize in developing, implementing,monitoringand reporting infection risk-reduction strategies through collaboration with all levels of medical center personnel.Infection Control Practitioners research and develop infection control policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements,nationally-recognizedinfection control guidelines, and recognized best practices.
Infection Preventionists coordinate initial and on-going department-specific and facility-wide educational programs related to infection prevention and control. The Infection Preventionistreportsstate and federally mandatedhealthcare associatedinfections (HAI)Infection Preventionistsplan and coordinate programs to evaluate andmonitorsterile and aseptic techniques, cleaning procedures, and sterilization processes employed by the medical center.Incumbents collaborate with and make recommendations to department leadership to reduce oreliminatepotential infection hazards and toinitiatecorrective action asindicatedthrough infection surveillance and monitoring programs.
As a successful candidate, you will:
- Identifyhealthcare-associated infection risks to patients and personnel through surveillance, observation,and assessment.
- Specialize in developing, implementing,monitoringand reporting infection risk-reduction strategies through collaboration with all levels of medical center personnel.
- Research and develop infection control policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements,nationally-recognizedinfection control guidelines, and recognized best practices.

- Reportsstate and federally mandatedhealthcare associatedinfections(HAI).

Your qualifications should include:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) orcommensuratedegree in a healthcare-related fieldor public health. Experience may substitute for minimum education requirements
- Greater than 2 years infection prevention experience in an acute care facility, or must be CIC certified if having less than 2 years of experience
- CIC requiredor must pass the CIC exam within 6 months of hire
- For Associate Level Infection Preventionist - No experience required, no CIC required

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $46.58 - $74.53 / hour
