The Catering Service Worker will organize, set up and deliver requested catering services to specific requested location or conference room. Provide prompt and courteous service to all customers. Provide customers with efficient and attentive service while exceeding the customer’s expectations. The general responsibilities of the position include those listed below, but City of Hope may identify other responsibilities of the position.
As a successful candidate, you will:
- Responsible for fulfilling client catering order requests and ensuring accurate delivery of services.
- Regularly checks the catering ordering website to review customer needs, including food items, dates, times, and additional service requests.
- Distributes food preparation requirements to respective food departments in advance.
- Organizes each delivery by setting up non-perishable items ahead of time and ensuring timely delivery.
- Delivers food and beverages to designated locations, ensuring a professional and logical setup of all items, including condiments, service ware, and specialty items as needed.
- Listens to customer orders, explains menu items, and provides recommendations.
- Ensures all services are cleaned up at the end of the event or as per the requested pick-up time.
- Secures specialty linen, china, and rental needs in advance.
- Maintains organization of daily and weekly services and communicates effectively with customers.
- Acts as a point of contact for customer inquiries, catering bookings, and future service planning.
- Responds to customer complaints regarding food or service with professionalism and a solution-oriented approach.
- Finalizes catering invoices and billing for delivered services.
- Maintains a clean and organized work environment and presents a professional appearance.
- Assists with stocking food inventory, distributing supplies, and supporting food preparation and proper storage.
- Operates dishwashing equipment or assists with cleaning dishes, glassware, silverware, utensils, pots, and pans.
- Attends allergy and foodborne illness training, safety meetings, and hazard assessments.
- Complies with all company safety and risk management policies, reporting accidents and injuries promptly.
Your qualifications should include:
Minimum Education:
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience
Minimum Experience:
- 0 to 1 years of related work experience

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $20.40 - $24.48 / hour
