Job Description
Summary
The Division of Cardiovascular Research in the Department of Medicine is seeking an experienced Lead, Research Administration to oversee and manage the financial, administrative, and research administration operations of the division. This role is dynamic, fast paced, and critical to the long-term success of the division. Reporting to the Division Administrator for Cardiology, the Lead, Research Administration will help develop administrative and operational goals and strategies that align to department and college goals.
This role is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement.
Employees with CRA certification are eligible for certification pay.
Job Duties
- Provideoversight and support for the research administration and administrative operations of the division including all research administration activities.
- Overseepre- and post-award grant management activities including grant and clinical trial submissions, award set-up, award management, sponsor reporting, and the administrative closeout of projects.
- Leadthe annual budget process for the division and is responsible for managing budget performance throughout the fiscal year including the review and approval of financial transactions, cost allocations, time and effort reporting, and financial management plans.
- Serveas point of contact between sponsors, industry partners, principal investigators, and department and college officers.
- Workwith the Division HR Coordinator for research related roles including position management and workforce planning.
- Overseeassigned division laboratory space, equipment, service contracts, and procurement.
- Performother job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree. Certified Research Administrator certification through the Research Administrators Certification Council (RACC) may substitute for the degree requirement.
- Six years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Clinical research pre and post award experience
- CRA
- Must be able to work independently
