Job Description
Summary
The Psychology Division of the Department of Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine is currently seeking a full-time Psychological Associate for our offices located at theTexas Children's Hospital Medical Center Campus in Houston TX.
Responsibilities involve administration and scoring of psychological, neuropsychological, and developmental tests, and collaboration with licensed Psychologist/Neuropsychologists regarding direct patient care. The position is focused on both clinical work and grant-supported research projects Involving children ranging in age from infancy through young adult. The patient populations span hematology/oncology (e.g., brain tumors. leukemia, sickle cell disease), organ and bone marrow transplant, endocrine disorders, genetic and metabolic diseases, autism spectrum disorders, and various other medical and neurodevelopmental conditions.
Job Duties
Ancillary activities:
- Scores psychological, neuropsychological, and developmental tests from patient appointments.
- Presents findings of evaluations at meeting with fellow clinical staff and faculty.
- Documents as appropriate in EPIC Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
Testing appointment setup:
- Coordinates testing inventory and common spaces, as well as ensuring proper infection control procedures are being followed.
Research and clinical activity:
- Clinical activity and potential for some research activity involving children ranging in age from infancy through young adult. The patient populations span hematology/oncology (e.g., brain tumors. leukemia, sickle cell disease), organ and bone marrow transplant, endocrine disorders, genetic and metabolic diseases, autism spectrum disorders, and various other medical and neurodevelopmental conditions.
Conference participation:
- May participates in parent conferences regarding results of psychological/developmental evaluations.
Recruitment and training:
- Works directly with Psychology trainees (externs, interns, and postdoctoral fellow) and Psychometricians to both onboard and understand the testing process, as well as help engage in education activities and regular maintenance of training spaces.
- Assists with the recruitment and onboarding process of other Psychological Associates or Psychometrician.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling or related field.
- No experience required.
- Licensure as aPsychological Associateby the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two years of directly related experience in assessment.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish.
