The HLA Laboratory Quality Manager, reporting directly to our HLA Laboratory Director, is tasked with overseeing and implementing quality management initiatives, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and maintaining safety standards within the HLA Laboratory departments. This role involves serving as a key resource for the department, ensuring adherence to laws, regulations, and accrediting agency requirements. The HLA Quality Manager collaborates with other institutional departments to manage quality and regulatory activities related to HLA Laboratory operations. Additionally, the role involves interaction with external regulatory and accrediting agencies to uphold proper licensing, accreditation, and reporting. Staff training and competency will be managed by the licensed Lab Manager during the licensing process.

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Work with our HLA Laboratory Director and supervisor in the administration, maintenance, and on-going development of the department’s quality management system and performance of quality/regulatory activities
  • Develop, maintain, and execute policies, processes, and procedures for quality activities
  • Manage internal and external quality assessments as assigned and assist in hosting inspections by external regulatory agencies and/or contractors with HLA Laboratory
  • Responsible for the development of policies, processes, and procedures for new and/or revised investigational protocols that require products or services from HLA Laboratory.

Your qualifications should include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Five to seven years of experience including quality management and laboratory compliance.
  • Regulatory affairs experience with: CAP, ASHI, CLIA, FACT, NMDP, CDPH (California Department of Public Health)
  • California license as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist or Immunohematology limited license; or will obtain either of the California licenses within 9 monthsfrom date of hire or transfer.
  • Preferred:CHS (ACHI – American College of Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics)

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $56.43 - $94.23 / hour
