Job Description

Conducting research for a changing society: This is what drives us at Forschungszentrum Jülich. As a member of the Helmholtz Association, we aim to tackle the grand societal challenges of our time and conduct research into the possibilities of a digitized society, a climate-friendly energy system, and a resource-efficient economy. Work together with around 7,400 employees in one of Europe’s biggest research centers and help us to shape change!

At the Institute of Climate and Energy Systems – Jülich Systems Analysis, we investigate how a sustainable energy system could look like. In order to achieve the goal of greenhouse gas neutrality, so-called negative emission paths must be taken to offset remaining residual emissions in addition to a strict defossilization of the energy system. CO2 capture from the ambient air and its permanent sequestration (Direct Air Capture and Storage [DACS]) represents an important technical solution within these pathways. We are leading an exciting joint research project on this technology with top-class research partners from six different Helmholtz centers and the TU Berlin (DACStorE – https://www.dacstore-project.com/de). In this interdisciplinary research project, we are working on the ramp-up of DACS technology for widespread use to provide negative emissions. Become part of the lead of this successful research project and contribute your ideas and creativity to develop solutions for this major challenge.
