Summary

The section of critical care medicine in the department of pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine is pleased to announce a 1-year clinical instructor position to focus on critically ill patients requiring extracorporeal membrane oxygenation. The mission is to provide focused training and scholarship opportunities to Pediatric Critical Care Board Eligible/Certified physicians in the management of critically ill patients with severe respiratory and/or cardiac failure who require some form of mechanical support. Learning opportunities will be broad and include attention to cannulation, anti-coagulation, adult modalities, and general advanced medical management.

Texas Children's Hospital is a leading academic children's hospital and is the largest free-standing children's hospital in the nation. We recently opened a state-of-the art expansion tower, which is home to our intensive care units, new high intensity operating rooms, and the entire TCH Heart Center. There are currently 132 ICU beds in our new Legacy Tower, admitting more than 6,000 critically ill children annually. The patient population includes all the pediatric sub-specialties including cardiac, solid organ transplant, trauma, oncology, pulmonary hypertension, and neuro-critical care.

Requirements: Texas Licensure required prior to beginning employment. Eligible candidates must be board certified in Pediatrics and Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatric Critical Care
