Pathologists' Assistant - Surgical Pathology

Explore the dynamic realm of a Per Diem Pathologists' Assistant in the surgical pathology department, where you'll have the flexibility to contribute on an as-needed basis. Under the mentorship of the Pathologists' Assistant Manager, you'll engage in essential tasks such as examining surgical specimens for critical diagnoses, refining autopsy prosection techniques, and mastering the art of medical photography.
In this role, you'll play a crucial part in specimen preparation for fixation and embedding, perform advanced frozen section procedures, and actively participate in various departmental activities. Your contributions will span patient services, innovative research, teaching initiatives, and the development of cutting-edge technical procedures.

As a successful candidate, you will:
- Accession surgical specimens in the laboratory information system (LIS)
- Process and gross surgical specimens
- Perform quality control and quality assurance.
- Perform routine and complex autopsies.
Your qualifications should include:
- Bachelor's Degree in Pathologist Assistant Studies
- ASCP / AAPA Pathologist Assistant certification or must beASCP/AAPA Pathologist Assistant certified within 6 months of hire date.

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $51.24 - $81.98 / hour
