Summary
The Department of Medicine, Section of Cardiology, at Baylor College of Medicine is seeking a Nurse Practitioner.
Job Duties
Obtain detailed patient histories and conduct comprehensive physical examinations.
Perform, order, and interpret diagnostic procedures relevant to cardiology, including laboratory tests, imaging, and electrocardiograms.
Supervise and manage treadmill and pharmacological stress tests, ensuring patient safety and accurate data collection.
Prescribe appropriate pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments in accordance with established protocols.
Maintain accurate and thorough documentation in patient medical records, including orders, progress notes, and treatment plans.
Provide follow-up care, including health maintenance and chronic disease management, in collaboration with supervising physicians.
Consult on inpatient cases, providing expert recommendations and coordinating care with multidisciplinary teams.
Conduct outpatient clinic visits, managing a diverse patient population with cardiovascular conditions.
Communicate effectively with physicians, patients, and family members regarding patient care plans and progress.
Collaborate with health care providers and practice staff to identify patients appropriate for care management initiatives.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Education Required: Master's degree in Nursing.
Experience Required: None required.
Certification/Licenses/Registration: Current license as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the State of Texas Board of Nursing. Current Texas Licensure as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APRN-NP), and specialty certification as required by the department. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
