This position works a varied days shift/swing shift schedule on-site in Duarte. Start times range from 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Weekend day shift rotations are required.

The Information Clerk is responsible for the directing of visitors and patients to the requested areas, including providing direction and appointment information for patients. Screens and badges all visitors to inpatient units

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Greet callers and visitors and give directions to the Medical Center units / departments / buildings.
  • Screen and badge all visitors to Helford Clinical Research Hospital and other inpatient units.
  • Ensure accurate wait-listing check-of new ambulatory care patients including EPIC check-in on arrival.
  • Ensure accurate communication of incoming inpatients and outpatient surgery patients to the admitting department and other departments.
  • Accept and process donations of money, and miscellaneous items
  • Input request to CSPT for patient transport assistance from vehicle or transfer from gurney to gurney.
  • Process patient mail and deliver accordingly
  • Communicate urgent patient and family needs to the specialty team.
  • Ensure that a positive service image is projected in all encounters with patients, visitors, and department staff.
  • Input online requests for maintenance repairs and communicated with EVS regarding entrance and lobby.

Your qualifications should include:

  • High School or equivalent (Experience may substitute for minimum education requirements).
  • Six months or more in customer relations or related experience

Additional Information:

This position is represented by a collective bargaining agreement.

City of Hope employees pay is based on the following criteria: work experience, qualifications, and work location.

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $21.96 - $26.73 / hour

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
