Join Our Team as an Exercise Science Specialist!
Make a meaningful impact in the field of exercise-oncology and cardiovascular health. In this dynamic role, you’ll collaborate with leading researchers and clinicians to design and lead cutting-edge exercise programs, conduct physiological testing, and educate participants. You'll play a key role in advancing research while ensuring the highest standards of care and compliance. As a successful candidate, you will:
- Staff Management & Development: Oversees hiring, onboarding, training, and supervision of Exercise Physiologists; identifies skill gaps and provides ongoing development and feedback.
- Operational Oversight: Acts as the primary liaison between exercise physiology and research teams; ensures workflows and procedures align with protocol requirements.
- Training & Performance Monitoring: Develops and implements training plans; monitors staff performance, approves time off, and addresses disciplinary issues in coordination with leadership.
- Quality & Compliance: Conducts audits to ensure data accuracy and adherence to research protocols and regulatory standards.
- Project Leadership: Supports and coordinates special research and departmental projects; contributes expertise in exercise physiology and research methodology.
- Resource & Workflow Management: Assesses staffing needs, schedules work activities, and ensures efficient coverage and service delivery.
Your qualifications should include:
- Bachelor’s in Exercise Physiology or Exercise Science
- 7+ years of relevant experience
- Expertise in exercise testing, rehabilitation, and clinical exercise
- Background in oncology, cardiology stress testing, and clinical research

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $35.68 - $55.31 / hour
The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
