Enterprise Systems in the Office of Information Technology is seeking a Systems Engineer for the Campus Web Solutions (CWS) development team. The successful candidate will create new web applications and maintain existing ones, contributing to the University’s mission through high-quality software solutions.
Working onsite is a requirement of the job.

Peer code reviews
Ensure Quality Assurance standards
Assist creating, publishing, and migrating applications
Enforce SQL best practices
Create .NET applications using C#
Develop and integrate AI solutions to enhance application functionality and user experience
The work is varied and challenging in character. Therefore, the successful candidate will need to be a self-starter and must possess and apply comprehensive IT knowledge, concepts, practices, and procedures, including hardware, software, networks as well as troubleshooting and documentation for the completion of complex assignments and projects.
Breakdown of Essential Functions
50% -.NET developer support: Create, publish, and migrate sites on the IIS environment. including documentation, code repository experience, and peer code reviews.
30% – Client Interactions from weekly updates to the clients on their projects and hyper-care after delivery.
10% – Reviewing statements of work to ensure enough detail is present for design.
10% – New Technologies: Spend time exploring new and emerging technologies/trends in the market. For example, Azure and AI Development

Minimum Qualifications
The Systems Engineer (CWS) position is posted at two levels.
Associate Systems Engineer:
High school diploma and 8 years of relevant experience OR
Associate’s degree and 4 years of experience OR
Bachelor’s degree and 0 years of experience.
Systems Engineer:
High school diploma and 11 years of relevant experience OR
Associate’s degree and 7 years of experience OR
Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of experience.
Minimum Skills, License, and Certifications
Minimum Skills and Abilities
Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
Excellent verbal and written communication, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Proficiency in modern programming paradigms and languages, with an emphasis on problem-solving and adaptability.
Solid understanding of web development principles and front-end/back-end integration.
Familiarity with relational and non-relational database concepts.
Ability to troubleshoot and support end-users in a technical environment.
Experience with object-oriented design and programming principles.
Understanding of software development lifecycle.

Desired Qualifications
Bachelor’s and/or Graduate degree from an accredited institution in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field. Five years of experience in computer programming, and software development. Other desired qualifications include familiarity with university organization, methods and procedures.
Desired Technical Skills
Experience with modern development frameworks and libraries (e.g., MVC, Entity Framework, JavaScript-based frameworks).
Familiarity with cloud platforms and deployment strategies.
Understanding of quality assurance practices including unit, integration, and performance testing.
Exposure to mobile development and responsive design principles.
Experience with version control and collaborative development tools.
Experience in AI integration and automation.
