System Administrator – ServiceNow

About the Role:
The ServiceNow System Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day configuration, support, and maintenance of the ServiceNow platform. This role ensures optimal performance and usability of the system, supports the development and deployment of new applications, modules, and workflows, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to align the platform with business goals. The administrator also ensures compliance with governance and security standards while enabling efficient and scalable IT service management processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day ServiceNow operations, including user and group management, access controls (ACLs), roles, and licenses.
Perform routine system health checks, upgrades, patching, and performance monitoring to keep the platform secure and optimized.
Configure out-of-the-box functionality (forms, lists, notifications, service catalogs, workflows, business logic, scripts, etc.) while following best practices.
Provide second-line support for incidents and requests related to ServiceNow modules, ensuring quick resolution and minimizing business impact.
Partner with ServiceNow developers on deployments, testing, and troubleshooting custom applications and integrations.

System Administration and Catalog Development: Acts as the System Administration and Catalog Development for the ServiceNow solution. Analyzes the business processes and needs, recommends new business processes, and develops applications and interfaces to enhance business processes. The following technologies are used, but not limited to: HTML, Microsoft Office, Javascript, SQL and Jelly (ServiceNow Core Code).

Technical Administration and Process Improvement: Assists in the resolution of technical issues related to ServiceNow. Monitors work queue for user issues and needs. Acts as the primary contact for group updates and user assignments, troubleshooting of any unexpected technical issue, assists in scheduling, coordination and installation of patches and upgrades. Maintains knowledge of new innovative and emerging technology and IT best practices. Implements this knowledge with experience to provide recommendations on business process improvements, software and hardware. Evaluates, recommends, and implements any directives for standardization or process improvement. Reporting: Designs and verifies reports in ServiceNow. Responsible for collecting requirements, suggesting current reports or tools that meet requirements and development of reports, either self-service or dashboard-based produced, on either as needed or scheduled basis.
