Job Description
The Infrastructure and Resilience (I&R) Office at CU Boulder encourages applications for a Business Applications Analyst/BI Developer! The Enterprise Systems work unit within Infrastructure and Resilience IT (I&R IT) services include design, configuration, and implementation of new systems; consultation with users to identify appropriate solutions; and ongoing maintenance, administration of enterprise-class business applications (AssetWorks AiM, Go, ReADY, Oracle Unifier, Meridian) used in the daily operations of I&R, Facilities Management, and Design & Construction groups within I&R. The work unit is also responsible for database administration of databases (Oracle, Microsoft SQL, MySQL, PostreSQL) serving the department and its systems, including automation, data feeds, and Business Intelligence (BI) and reporting.This role is a lead contributor in the Enterprise Systems work unit at Facilities Management supporting Work Management (AssetWorks/AiM) and Capital Projects Management (Oracle/Unifier) business applications and the implementations and reporting used in the daily operations of Facilities Management and the Design & Construction groups at CU Boulder. The primary business applications focus on work management and construction management.
This position works with staff and is responsible for ongoing analysis/support/management, and advanced BI reporting, of enterprise business applications and business processes within Facilities Management. This role combines advanced BI reporting (acting as the department lead), application, and business specific knowledge to ensure Enterprise Systems are functional, efficient, secure, and aligned with Facilities Management and campus business goals and mission.

The I&R Office areas of responsibility include long-range capital planning, architecture, design and construction, the operation and maintenance of all campus facilities and utilities, transportation services, workplace accident prevention and the creation of a safe working environment for campus employees, environmental health and safety, campus logistics, and efforts around sustainability and resiliency.

Enterprise Applications Support and Reporting
Design, develop and maintain business intelligence solutions using Power BI.
Collaborate with partners to understand data needs and deliver actionable insights.
Support enterprise business applications, resolving issues, and planning and testing implementation updates.
Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI to visualize key business data and metrics.
Write and optimize advanced SQL queries to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into databases or reporting tools.
Use SQL to extract, transform, and analyze data from Oracle and MySQL sources for business reporting.
Develop and maintain integrations and optimizations between business applications (e.g., CRMs, ERPs) to streamline workflows and enhance productivity.
Develop and maintain integrations using ETL pipelines and automate data flows between systems, using Oracle SQL tools and MySQL frameworks.
Standard report generation and maintenance using application (BIRT) and BI (Power BI) tools connecting to Oracle and MySQL databases.
Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security while adhering to campus and industry standards.
Diagnose and resolve application/database-related issues, ensuring data integrity while minimizing downtime.
Participate in formal and informal training and conference sessions to improve technical knowledge and skills.
Training and Support
Working with Enterprise Systems staff, providing guidance and support related to the Enterprise Systems (AiM, Unifier, Power BI reporting).
Train business application and BI reporting users as needed, including hands-on training and explanations of procedures and concepts necessary to properly use the applications.
Security Management
Working with staff, campus, and vendor security experts, continuously analyze and implement appropriate security measures to protect enterprise applications and data.
Collaborate with staff to maintain application security access roles and privileges based on need to access specific modules and functions of the applications.
Work with staff on continuously assessing security risks and access controls.
Working with campus, staff, and industry standards, stay abreast of potential security threats and vulnerabilities coordinating with colleagues to make appropriate changes as needed.
Policy Compliance Development
Collaborate with others to document and maintain standardized policies and procedures related to the Enterprise Systems operations.
Ensure compliance with relevant campus and industry regulations and standards.
Application Document Creation
Create and maintain existing and new documentation to support applications and application maintenance work, including ETL source to target mappings, design, data flow diagrams, narratives, code review logs, validation results, execution logs, and profiling results.
Create other training documentation related to BI reporting, system maintenance, and business applications.

This position is expected to work in a hybrid work format, with 2 days required to be in-person per week. This role works an anticipated schedule of Monday - Friday during regular business hours.
