Job DetailsThe Department of Chemistry in the Gupta College of Science at Coastal Carolina University (https://www.coastal.edu/chem/) invites applications for a lecturer position beginning Fall 2026. The Department of Chemistry is home to approximately 85 undergraduate majors and three degrees: Biochemistry, Chemistry, and Chemistry Education. As a department, we focus on our commitment to student success and are seeking an excellent teacher who is dedicated to the undergraduate experience. The successful candidate will be teaching chemistry lectures and labs in Organic and General Chemistry. The position is a renewable 9-month appointment with ability to work toward promotion to senior lecturer and then principal lecturer. Applicants must, at a minimum, have earned a M.S. in Chemistry or Biochemistry but a Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or closely related fields is preferred.

Required Qualifications
Must have completed 18 graduate hours in the relevant discipline, hold a master’s degree or meet the established alternative qualifications, and exhibit strong potential for excellence in teaching. Maintain currency in academic discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
Must hold the appropriate terminal degree or meet the established alternative qualifications.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Current knowledge and mastery of demonstrable skills in area of expertise with ability and willingness to effectively communicate them to students and colleagues is required.
