Job DetailsThe Conway Medical Center College of Health and Human Performance at Coastal Carolina University is accepting applications for a full-time Lecturer Position in the Public Health program effective August 15, 2026. The Public Health program offers a four-year baccalaureate program of study that includes experiential learning opportunities for students. The program also offers a minor in Public Health. The successful candidate reports to the Chair of the Department of Public Health and is expected to represent the program with internal and external constituencies.
The program seeks an exceptional educator with professional experience in public health, emergency preparedness, program planning and leadership. Candidates with a master’s degree with instruction experience at the undergraduate level, a record of community and/or public engagement, program management experience and evidence of leadership and collaboration are preferred.
The successful candidate qualifications must be acceptable to our regional accreditors and will be qualified to teach the following content areas: personal and community health, principles and philosophy of public health, leadership in public health, and crisis readiness and management. Other courses may be available based on the needs of the program. The candidate will be able to incorporate and address determinants of health throughout the curriculum.
Responsibilities include course development, teaching students in the major and student engagement beyond the classroom. The position carries a 5/5 teaching load of both lower and upper division required courses but with the potential of a 1/1 course release for other assigned duties. This is a 9-month position. Relocation is required as some course will be taught in person.
