Job Description
DescriptionThe Department of Microbiology, Immunology, and Cell Biology is currently accepting applications for a Temporary Research Assistant I.
The laboratory is seeking a motivated temporary research assistant to support ongoing preclinical studies evaluating novel autogene mRNA cancer therapies in mouse models of breast cancer. The position will primarily support animal studies focused on evaluating tumor growth, treatment response, and therapeutic efficacy.
What You'll Do
Responsibilities will include assisting with mouse tumor studies, performing routine tumor measurements, assisting with MRI imaging and other assessments of tumor burden, monitoring animals following treatment, maintaining accurate experimental records, collecting and organizing study data, processing tissues at experimental endpoints, preparing reagents, and performing general laboratory duties. The research assistant may also assist with administration and evaluation of experimental autogene and mRNA-based cancer therapies.
Pay Grade: 15
Length of Assignment: 8.5 Months
Work Hours: 37.5 hours
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in biological science related field.
A minimum of six (6) months of lab experience
Prior laboratory or animal research experience.
Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered.
All qualifications must be met by the time of employment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to accurately collect, document, and manage experimental data.
Ability to work independently and as part of a research team.
Comfort working with laboratory mice and participating in animal research.
